Bamboo Grove Collection“
What I love about creating a new collection is conceiving designs that pair naturally with existing patterns and textures,” says Madeaux founder Richard Smith. “Generally, one idea sparks another until an unexpected story emerges”
The Bamboo Grove collection comprises new printed and woven fabrics alongside reimagining some of the brand’s best-loved textiles as wallpaper designs.
Inspired by the decorative hallmarks of Chinese porcelain, nomadic ikats, and the hand-crafted rugs of Persia and India, Richard has hand-drawn each motif in his East Sussex studio. The designs are brought to life through his painterly, water-colored aesthetic, forming an eclectic collection that reads like a tour of a classic English house.
Highlights include fabrics Zogee, Coral Stripe, La Vigne, and Treillage making their way to walls as new papers, while Samarkand – their popular ikat wallpaper – does the reverse and makes its debut as linen. And that’s not to mention Claudette – a bold, of-the-moment, 100% silk stripe in five colorways, including Gold, Graphite, and Rose.
