Antique Gold

Mini Weave in Antique Gold is a new addition to Susan’s elegant Antique Gold color group, alongside Artemis and Maritsa in Antique Gold.

These 3 fabrics work beautifully together for drapes, upholstery and pillows. Artemis is a smart but not formal printed linen, inspired by an old Turkish hand blocked print that Susan found on her travels. Artemis is ideal for drapes and is lovely also for domestic upholstery and for blinds, ottomans/footstools and pillows. Maritsa is a hybrid of the many influences from East and West that have inspired and influenced Susan. It is a beautiful print on semi-glazed cotton and is ideal for curtains and lovely also for blinds, pillows, bedskirts/ valances, fabric walling and headboards. Maritsa can be used if back-coated for light upholstery.

At every stage of the manufacturing process, from the production of cotton and flax, too dyeing and to weaving and to minimizing waste, Susan’s weaves and prints are made in a sustainable way.

Burnt Orange

Susan is launching a new Burnt Orange colorway of three of her popular weaves, Patmos, Mini Weave and Demetra. All these new weaves complement each other beautifully and work with Susan’s exceptional burnt Orange Temera braid, which is embroidered on wild silk that is specially hand woven for Susan.

Susan was inspired to create her Patmos weave by two 18th century Greek island embroideries. Mini Weave was inspired by a fragment of an antique indigo dyed Persian jajimand, in Demetra, Susan reinterpreted the vibrant weave of a hand woven ewe cloth from West Africa. Susan takes inspiration from antique textiles that she finds on her travels and colors them in her own palette that works in both contemporary and traditional interiors.Mini Weave is also available in Red, Sky Blue, Moss and new color Antique Gold, which is being launched at the same time as this Burnt Orange collection. Mini Weave is a smart and versatile fabric, popular with decorators and retail clients, in a growing range of colors that complements and expands Susan’s fabric range. Susan’s Patmos weave also comes in Smokey Blue, Sky Blue, Hedge Green and Red/Indigo/Antique Linen and is one of Susan’s most popular designs. Demetra also comes in Rose.

These fabrics are all woven in England by a business that has been owned by the same family for generations. At every stage of the manufacturing process, from the production of cotton and flax, too dyeing and to weaving and to minimizing waste, Susan’s weaves are made in a sustainable way.
